House extension and refurbishment

This existing two story, three bedroom house is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The clients wanted to explore the potential of the existing house and look at alternative extension designs to improve the layout of the reception spaces and increase the number of bedrooms.

We also looked at different treatments of the external finishes, producing alternatives for a traditional appearance and more modern ones.

The designs opened up the ground floor space to make it open plan, incorporating the kitchen, dining and living areas. The clients wanted plenty of natural light and the ability to connect the interior space with the terrace via sliding doors.
